This morning I had the privilege to take the Steben’s maternity photos!  The doctor told Mom that she could deliver at any moment, so we scheduled a last minute maternity session so that she would have some photos of this special time!  Dad and brother came along as well, and we got some great shots of the growing family (and let me tell you, baby E is going to be gorgeous, just look at how adorable her brother is!).

The photo session went great and Mom didn’t go into labor (although there was a pretty close call when she saw her son throw a big ornament, but don’t worry, it was plastic!).  Here are some teasers from that fun session (click on each photo to enlarge):

Now Mom and Dad have to pick which one to use for Christmas cards!  Good luck =)

I’m a little behind in my posting, but last Friday I had a sweet photo session with baby Abs again! I can’t believe the first time I photographed her she weighed less than 5 pounds (which we thought was pretty huge at the time), but now check out those baby rolls! She’s absolutely gorgeous, and her smile is always contagious! I LOVE being able to watch her grow, and capturing these special times with her makes me love my job!
Here’s some teasers!

Last night I had a great time photographing the G family in their home!  Ashley and Justin have a beautiful house that was decorated so gorgeously for the holidays, it was the perfect house for those holiday photos!  This photo session was another very special one for me, because Gage was the first newborn I ever photographed!  In a huge way, he was my transition from shooting weddings to doing portraits, and for that I will always thank him! =)  I am so much loving what I am doing right now, and it’s an incredible feeling to get to watch these babies grow up before my very own camera!

Gage was an awesome model (maybe because we started him out so young? =)   ), he kept looking at the camera the whole time and didn’t have any meltdowns (which is pretty amazing since he only had a 30 minute nap and he was probably starving – those candy canes, cookies, and lollipops we kept throwing his way weren’t cutting it).  And Mom and Dad were gorgeous as well (even if we couldn’t talk Dad into throwing on some jammies for that embarassing pic that probably would have had to go on the blog =)  Good choice =)  ).

You’re probably anxious to see some of the teasers, so here they are!

Yesterday I had the pleasure to meet newborn babies Audrey and Ryan.  These precious babies were a week old and still so very tiny!  Small enough to fit into a stocking (and yes, we actually put them into Christmas stockings!).  Hanging out with these two little ones had me wishing for one of my own!  But until I am blessed with a little cutie of my own, I am sure having fun meeting so many gorgeous babies and capturing those special moments when they are so tiny!

I bet you are dying to see the stocking photos, so without further ado, I give you the teasers (click on a photo to enlarge):

This morning I drove to Snohomish to visit the W. family again, and this time they had a new addition!  Baby Gavin is such a handsome little boy, he’s sure to steal a few hearts.  And check out that head of hair!  His sister Hannah is an absolute doll, even when she is full of energy =)  Getting her to stay still for a moment for the family photos was a challenge (one that I met happily by trying to sone a too small santa hat), but the best shots I snapped of her was when she was being herself and jumping on her parents bed =)

These two adorable kids are sure to keep their parents busy!  Check out the teasers (click on each photo to enlarge):

Yesterday was quite a big day around the Atkin household!  I had Santa Claus come to my house twice in one day!!!  Okay, so maybe the first time he was disguised as a FedEx driver, but he delivered a very important gift:  my freedom from my dark office (in the form of a beautiful red Dell laptop!).  I’m so excited to be blogging from my couch right now, and editing photos is a lot more fun when you have a new toy to play with!  I can’t wait until I test it out at a coffee store (yes, I’m definitely a PacWest gal!)

The second time Santa came (this time by UPS), he brought my husband’s Christmas gift: a GPS (can you believe it was free with the laptop?  Score one for good deals!).  I’m sure we made quite the pair sitting at the dining room table playing with our new toys last night.  Keenan and I even tried out his GPS while taking a short walk last night, and I’m sure he used it this morning trying to find his way to work!  Men, they won’t trust you with directions, but for some reason they will trust an electronic babe? =)

All right, I think I need to go work on some Christmas presents!  Not only have I been busy with photo shoots, but for some crazy reason I decided to make most of the Christmas gifts this year.  With only 5 more weeks, that task is becoming a bit daunting!

Yes, this weekend was another very  busy one for me!  I had three more photo shoots and my inlaws came to visit, so needless to say, this is very much my catch up week!

Yesterday I had a wonderful time photographing the Kasper family.  We met at Pioneer Park in Puyallup and took advantage of an unusually nice November morning.  Little Aidan did not want to pose formally with the family, instead he hammed it up for the camera on his own, often dancing around and then being so sweet.  He became my new buddy quickly!  And little miss Abigail was sure a cutie, full of smiles especially after she had a great lunch.  Unfortunately she got her first owie after falling off the kid bench, so please keep her in your thoughts and wish for a fast recovery!

Here are some of the teasers!  (Click on a photo to enlarge):

Months ago I struck a deal with another girl on thenest (most my clients will know what I’m talking about!), telling her if she got pregnant, then I would ttc too.  While I’m still working on my end of the bargain, I was lucky to finally meet her on Saturday when I took her maternity photos!

Jen and her husband Kelly came over for portraits and we had a great time!  This couple was a blast to work with, they were really friendly and up for anything.  We laughed over Kelly gaining the sympathy weight, and I must confess, I almost didn’t do the photos because they were Cougars (j/k, but Go Ducks!).  Looking through the photos, you can tell how in love this couple is and how excited they are for their whatissuretobe gorgeous little boy (whom we shall call Jer’ Magesty for now =)  ).

Jen, I hope you love these photos and I’m working hard to fulfill my end of our bargain!  Here are your teasers (click on each photo to enlarge):

Today’s photo session was a pretty special one for me because the last time I “saw” baby Hailey, she was in her mommy’s tummy!  Katia and her family came to me a few months ago for maternity photos, and this morning I was so excited to finally meet baby Hailey.  I wonder if she must have caught the modeling bug during that maternity session, because she was quite the cooperative newborn!  We were able to get pictures of her smiling, sleeping, cuddling, etc., and she only cried when we tried to stick her in the cornecopia and bag of tulle (can you blame the poor kid?).

It’s really rewarding as a photographer to be able to meet and photograph the baby of a previous maternity photo session.  I also love watching those babies grow up and meet their milestones (especially that first year).  I am so blessed with this wonderful job (and I can’t wait until I have a special little one to put in cornecopias =)  ).

Here are some great teasers!  (Click to enlarge):

Go ahead, check out these baby blues and tell me they don’t pull on your heart strings!  Yesterday I had the pleasure to work with gorgeous baby Robbie, and he totally worked the camera!  He was full of silly faces, serious looks, and of course, smiles!  I always love how baby smiles are so humungous and light up their entire face!

Robbie’s mom brought over a bear that her aunt had made her when she was little , and little Robbie LOVED the teddy bear!  Maybe he had been staring at it while it sat on a shelf in his room, and he finally got to play with it today!  So of course, there are some great shots of Robbie with his teddy bear =)
